| I'm working on very different styles and colors. There are no dates: those will come later. I can rearrange elements to make room for any relevant information we want to include on the posters. Click on the posters for the huge image. | |||||||||
| The history theme: images of horses from over 2000 years of equitation. The top image is probably Alexander the Great as a kid on Bukephalos (from a coin commissioned by his daddy Philip of Macedon). The image below it is from the 18th century engraving of shoulder-in by Parrocel done for La Gueriniere's "Ecole de Cavalerie" book (fancy edition). And the bottom image is a photo I took of Oberbereiter Kottas at a Spanish Riding School performance. Another version of this history poster is HERE. | |||||||||

| The classical edition from the La Gueriniere book mentioned above. No Buckeye leaf because it goes against the engraved look. | |||||||||

| The Cinti version with no flying saddled pigs. The Union Terminal - Museum Center (more traditionally the residence of the SuperFriends including Superman and Wonder Woman), a signature feature of the Queen City. That's a buckeye leaf (Aesculus glabra) next to Ohio, as the state tree. The state bird is the Cardinal (putting other animals besides horses makes the poster look like a zoo, so no birds.) Naturally, the USDF logo guy is saluting Cinti...
The next page has more... BUT, if you want to see how things will be for the vintage USDF convention of the future (Y3K), then look below for the NEXT MILLENNIUM at Porkopolis (Cincinnati). |
